Applying Blush - How to apply blush?

Blush is the last cosmetic to be used on face while doing makeup. The method of applying blush differs with the facial shape and the right application of blusher can make your face look longer or wider, as desired.

Step By Step Guide on How to Apply Blush

Step 1 Throw away the brush that comes in the compact; it's too stiff and small to create a natural look. Use a good blush brush.

Step 2 Use a full, round brush, it will make more professional look and far better than that which comes with the blush.

Step 3 Consider the type of blush best suited to your skin type. Cream blush works very well for drier skin, as it can help to keep skin hydrated. Powder blush is better suited to oily skin.

Step 4 Complete the application of foundation, powder and all eye makeup before applying blush.

Step 5 For a long, narrow face to Apply the color lesser than the lower edge of the cheekbone and keep the angle horizontal for such a face to create the width of the face.

Step 6 For round, square face to Apply color in the middle of the face. Don't get close on the nose.

Step 7 For skin look clearer to Apply blusher to the apple of your cheeks. Blend it back but don't go further than the corner of the eye.

Step 8 Never use blush on underside of cheekbones.

Step 9 Powder blush should always be applied in one direction to avoid streaking.

Step 10 The best method to apply a blush is to take the blush on the brush and tap off any extra color in the box itself. Alternately, if you are using gel or cream blush, put a dab of it on your fingers.

Tips for applying blush

  • For rosier cheeks, consider gel or liquid tints. Wash your hands after use, as these products may stain the hands.
  • Remember that the lighter your skin tone, the lighter your blush color should be.
  • Wash brushes regularly with a makeup remover or nonsoap cleanser.
